In a tiny village where everyone wore hats shaped like fruit, the moon did something quite unexpected—it got stuck in the sky. Not in the usual way, but really stuck. It had dipped too low, trying to peek at a secret dance the owls were hosting, and its edge got caught on a particularly tall tree.
Tomi, a curious boy with a pineapple hat and a backpack full of marbles, noticed it first. “Look! The moon isn’t moving!” he yelled, pointing his flashlight at the sky as if that would help.
Soon, everyone gathered, scratching their heads. The mayor, who wore a banana-shaped hat, declared, “We’ll push it down!”
So they built a ladder—made from spaghetti noodles and wishful thinking. When that failed, Tomi had a better idea: “Let’s ask the tree nicely.”
The tree, surprised to be addressed so politely, shivered its branches and released the moon with a sigh.
The moon twinkled gratefully, blinked three times, and floated away—just in time for breakfast.
From then on, the moon stayed a little higher, and the owls sent formal invitations.
